This week I'm sharing my setup, acknowledging my bad sync, wrapping up the review of Slido and starting the review of vMix and mmHmm
Some things will never change. Triple checking your technology and rehearsing your content is still critical to putting a professional and trustworthy face on your business. This week I broke all of those rules and was miserable for the rest of the day. I was changing the technology of my setup for OBS up until the last minute before our Zoom call. This led to a few issues as the meeting progressed.
- I did not record the meeting, which in retrospect I'm grateful for, but it's not the protocol I'd like to stick to
- I got flustered pretty early on that the setup I was using wasn't working as planned and never recovered
- Being flustered highlights poorly rehearsed content, my review of mmHmm was angry at best
Last week we had a great chat with stage manager Robin Rumpf about working under COVID conditions on remote corporate events. This week we're finishing our discussion of Slido as an audience interaction method, "Un boxing" mmhmm and had a long talk with Producer Jennifer Winegardner about the benefits and challenges of working with vMix, the cloud switcher.
vMix
- vMix is a Software Video Mixer and Switcher that utilizes the latest advances in computer hardware to provide live HD video mixing, a task previously only possible on expensive dedicated hardware mixers.
